Visiting Creede
The town of Creede is the county seat for Mineral County, and located just 55 miles south of Lake City. The town was formed during the late 19th century silver boom, and mining was the primary industry for several decades afterwards.
Creede is a very picturesque town. There are several historic buildings, some of which now house unique shops and cafés. The Creede Repertory Theatre has a well-earned reputation for excellent productions.
Creede's mining legacy can be seen at the local mining museum or by touring the Batchelor Loop road to see the remains of several mines.
